Cricket » ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

Date 30 May, 2019 15 Jul, 2019
From $1,455 AUD per person, twin/double share

The ICC Cricket World Cup will be returning to it’s spiritual home in 2019, and it will be doing so in an all-new format! For the first time ever, only 10 teams will be competing at a ICC Cricket World Cup instead of the traditional 14. By featuring the top 8 ranked ODI sides (India, South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka) and the top two finishers (Windies and Afghanistan) of the 2018 Cricket World Qualifiers, spectators are guaranteed to see a higher standard of cricket and more competitive matches throughout the tournament. Another change fresh to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is the re-introduction (this format was also used at the 1992 edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup) of a ’round robin’ format that will see each team play each other once. The top four finishers from this stage will then proceed to a knock-out Semi Final.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 – Ticket Packages & Tours

Join Sportsnet Holidays in England & Wales for the world’s biggest cricket event at some of the the game’s most iconic and historic grounds including Lord’s (London), The Oval (London), Edgbaston (Birmingham), Trent Bridge (Nottingham) and Cardiff Wales Stadium. Reigning champions, Australia have a massive task ahead of them to successfully defend their title against the likes of home track bullies (expect some green wickets!), England, and of course, the current number 1ranked ODI side, India, are always a formidable opponent irrespective of where the match is being staged. However, Australia has won four of the last five World Cups, so you can be sure that they’re going to make a huge tilt at holding aloft the Prudential Cup trophy at the conclusion of the Final on Sunday the 14th of June at the home of cricket, Lord’s.

Though Test cricket is experiencing a renaissance in popularity (and rightly so!)and T20 is still somewhat the cool new kid on the block, if you ask there’s still no more compelling format than One Day Cricket! ‘One Dayers’ provide the perfect balance between the attacking mindset and big hitting of T20 cricket, and the strategy and the battle between bat and ball of Tests!
