2021 Australian Open COVID-19 Update
Today (February 12th, 2021) the Victorian State Government announced the reintroduction of stage 4 restrictions which come into effect from 11.59pm tonight, applying across all of Victoria. The Stage 4 restrictions will remain in effect until at least 11.59pm Wednesday, February 17th, 2021.
Australian Open sessions today and tonight will continue as planned with COVIDSafe protocols in place.
We are notifying Sportsnet Travel Package holders that there will be no fans onsite at the AO for five days, commencing from Saturday February 13th, affecting all travel packages until Wednesday, February 17th, 2021.
We are in the process of contacting guests who hold Australian Open packages between the 13th & 17th of February directly regarding what this means for your specific Australian Open booking. Play will continue uninterrupted on the broadcast, albeit without spectators onsite until Thursday, February 18th. Guests who hold packages from the February 18th onwards will have to wait until further information comes to hand. Your package may not be affected.
Interstate guests currently in Melbourne or those scheduled to travel to Melbourne imminently are being prioritised first.
The Sportsnet team will continue to contact guests in priority order based on the date of their scheduled Australian Open package.
