23 Destinations to dream of...
For our 23rd birthday we're revisiting 23 destinations you can look forward to getting back to
Destination #5 | Japan
Did you know? Mount Fuji is the highest point in Japan, which stands at 3,776 m.
Japan is a favourite for its culture and cuisine, so we wanted to talk about a handful of highlights for the next time you visit.
When in Japan, it’s only natural that you should find yourself in Tokyo. We suggest making your way to Shibuya pedestrian crossing after the sun goes down. The way it lights up is a small piece of modern day magic.
For something less technologically based sights, Itsukushima Shrine is the perfect stop to find some natural beauty. If you manage to get their during high tide, you will be able to embrace the view as the shrine appears to be floating on the water.
Known for its distinct cone shape, Mount Fuji is one of the most well known sacred sites in the country. If your sights are set on trekking up the mountain, be sure to plan wisely because climbing season is short and only runs from July to the end of August.
If there’s one thing Japan know how to do, it’s putting on some entertainment. We were lucky enough to visit for Rugby World Cup in 2019.
South Africa made history as the first team to ever win the tournament after losing a match in the pool stages. We love to see a team turn it around!
There’s so much amazing culture and history to embrace, we’re already planning our return.
