Set over the course of 23 days, 21 stages and covering close to 3,500km, Le Tour is also one of the most grueling races in cycling! Nearly 200 riders from 22 teams compete over the three week period for the Yellow Jersey. The 2016 Tour will be the 103rd edition of the event and will start from the monument, Mont Saint-Michel in north-western France travelling through to the Pyranees, Provence, the Alpes, through to the picturesque finish down the Champs-Elsees in Paris. The 2016 Tour will also encompass stages in Spain, Switzerland and the Principality of Andorra – making it a truly global spectacle.

The 2015 edition of Le Tour saw Englishman, Chris Froome, continue the spectacular run of form he has carried over recent years, winning his second Tour in three years. Team Sky’s lead rider also won the polka dot jersey (leader of the mountains classification), while Colombian, Nairo Quintana, won the white jersey (a jersey our own Phil Anderson won in 1982) with his Movistar Team winning the the team classification on the back of second and third placings in the overall standings.
