Day 3
Cross the border into Belgium today for a day trip to ’the Venice of the North’, Bruges! With a local guide you will explore the numerous canals that wind through the town. Don’t forget to look up though – the towering Gothic architecture will impress you just as much as the waterways. Enjoy a typical Belgian lunch at your own expense in Bruges, however it is recommended that at some point to try a gauffre (waffle) with whipped cream and chocolate! The biggest decision of all though – should your waffle be Liege-style or Brussels-style? While both are delicious, the Liege version is dense and topped with sugar crystals, whereas its Brussels cousin is airier with powdered sugar.
