Ah Liverpool… home to two of the best things to come out of England – the Beatles and Liverpool FC of course! Liverpool FC was founded in 1892 and has played at the famous Anfield ground – one of the truly stunning football grounds in the world – since its beginnings. In its 118 year history, Liverpool has been one of the most successful English Premier League clubs ever; winning 18 League titles, 7 FA Cups and a record 7 League Cups! Liverpool has also won 5 European Cups, making it the third-most successful club in Europe.
The 2013 – 2014 season was of course one of heart break for “Reds” supporters – after a fantastic season, they saw their chances fade late in the season and were finally pipped at the post by Manchester City to finish second in the Premier League. The Red’s 2014/2015 campaign was a disappointing one that saw them finish a relatively lowly 6th. Liverpool’s 2015/2016 campaign was another one of disappointment, finishing a very mediocre 8th on the table in a season that saw the sacking of manager, Brendan Rogers in October. It wasn’t all complete doom and gloom for Liverpool supporters though, the Red’s coming very close to winning some silverware in other competitions – finishing runner-up in both the UEFA Europa League and and League Cup. However, with one of the best strikers and managers in the business in Daniel Sturridge and Jorgen Klopp respectively, there’s no doubt that Liverpool has the resources at it’s disposal to achieve greatness in 2016/2017!
