Basic Itinerary

Day 1 – Wednesday 7 July – Amsterdam, Netherlands

Welcome to Amsterdam and your luxurious floating home for the next 15 days! This afternoon you will have time to unpack, relax and get acquainted with the ship, as the excitement builds for what is sure to be a memorable and unforgettable holiday.

Day 2 – Thursday 8 July – Amsterdam, Netherlands

Choose your sightseeing option today in Amsterdam. Tonight, celebrate with a gala welcome dinner.

You may choose to admire Amsterdam’s canals from a glass-top boat and glide past 17th-century homes, churches and merchant houses. A visit to Zaanse Schans is another option, known for its windmills and specialty produce. Or you may also choose to relax and take the day as it comes.

Day 3 – Friday 9 July – Andernach and Koblenz

Spend the morning cruising through Germany and you might like to head up to the sun deck and take in the views as they pass by. Disembark in Andernach for your first Signature Experience. After your visit to Namedy Castle, head back on board and enjoy dinner as the ship sets sail for Koblenz. Once you have arrived, you may wish to join your cruise director for an evening stroll through the charming village.

Go beyond the gates of Namedy Castle and wander about the rooms and grounds before enjoying a cocktail party in the ballroom where a pianist sets the mood for the afternoon.

Day 4 – Saturday 10 July – Koblenz and Rüdesheim

Have your camera ready to capture some of the best scenery you will see as you cruise through the Rhine Gorge. Dock in Rüdesheim, where you will choose your sightseeing activity for the day.

Take a gondola ride over the Rhine Valley which will allow you to view the best perspective of the town. For something a little quirkier, you may choose to visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum which houses a collection of fine automated musical creations.

Day 5 – Sunday 11 July – Miltenberg

Step ashore in Miltenberg and set out on a guided exploration. Wander through cobblestone streets and admire the town’s enchanting half-timbered houses before you have time to explore at your leisure.

Day 6 – Monday 12 July – Würzburg

Arrive in Würzburg and choose from three exciting activities today.

You may choose to walk to the 18th-century Würzburg Residence or travel to the fairy tale town of Rothenburg. Maybe get to know the locals with a visit to a family-owned farm with a home-cooked morning tea on the menu.

Day 7 – Tuesday 13 July – Bamberg

Relax on board as you sail to Bamberg. On arrival, join a local expert and uncover everything this World Heritage-listed city has to offer.

Day 8 – Wednesday 14 July – Nuremberg

This morning allows you the opportunity to choose your sightseeing activity in Nuremberg. You will then continue cruising on the Main-Danube Canal, which having taken 32 years to construct, links the North and Black seas.

Perhaps journey through Nuremberg’s history with its Gothic churches and World War II sites. Or you may choose to keep fit with a hike through the Schwarzach Valley.

Day 9 – Thursday 15 July – Regensburg

Discover one of Germany’s oldest towns with your choice of activities today.

Choose to explore Regensburg’s World Heritage-listed city centre. With a history dating back to Roman times, this incredible city was the first capital of Bavaria. You may instead prefer to get active and take a guided bike ride to the Walhalla memorial. This neo-classical building sits above the Danube River and houses a hall of fame that honours notable politicians, artists, sovereigns and scientists from Germany’s past.

Day 10 – Friday 16 July – Passau and Linz

How you spend today is up to you with a number of options on offer in some incredible destinations.

– Freedom of Choice Sightseeing

From Passau, you may decide to head to Salzburg to visit some of the sights featured in The Sound of Music! If that option is not to your liking, set off into the Czech Republic where Ceský Krumlov awaits. After you have finished sightseeing, re-board the ship in Linz, Austria.

Alternatively, you may choose to explore the town of Passau followed by a relaxing day on board cruising to Linz.

Day 11 – Saturday 17 July – Melk and Dürnstein

Today you will have the opportunity to visit the statuary-adorned Melk Abbey before having a couple of sightseeing options to choose from and it will be up to you how you get to the next port of call.

Cruise through the Wachau Valley to Dürnstein, where you will roam its cobblestone lanes at your leisure. Or perhaps you may choose to take a guided bike ride along the river from Melk to Dürnstein.

Day 12 – Sunday 18 July – Vienna

Arrive in Vienna and set out on the activity of your choice before a Signature Experience awaits this evening.

Perhaps take in Vienna’s many landmarks along the Ringstrasse, including St Stephen’s Cathedral. The 1,441-room Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens are another option. You may choose to tick another country off your list and journey to Slovakia’s Bratislava. Otherwise, get active with a bike ride to Klosterneuburg Monastery.

After dinner, head to the princely family of Liechtenstein’s City Palace in the heart of Vienna, where you will enjoy an exclusive cocktail party and private recital, just for you! A full orchestra will perform classical masterpieces by Mozart and Strauss. You will also be enchanted by an operatic recital from members of the Mozart Boys’ Choir.

Day 13 – Monday 19 July – Budapest

Soak up the views as you enjoy a relaxing morning sailing through Hungary before enjoying another Signature Experience.

In Esztergom, set out on a guided tour and discover this picturesque town and its historic buildings. Follow in the footsteps of the Habsburg Empire as you board the Grand Empress steam train, bound for Budapest. See inside some of the ornately adorned carriages from the early 1900s and be treated like royalty as you savour lunch on board. On arrival at Budapest Railway Station, see the Royal Waiting Room – a rather fitting way to end this opulent experience.

Day 14 – Tuesday 20 July – Budapest

Enjoy a morning city tour of Budapest taking in the historic monuments, including Fisherman’s Bastion and Heroes’ Square. The afternoon is at leisure to further explore all that Budapest has to offer.

Day 15 – Wednesday 21 July – Budapest

Sadly, the time has come to say goodbye. After breakfast, it will be time to disembark the ship and be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
