Basic Itinerary

Day 1 – Wednesday 23 June – Budapest

Welcome to Budapest! You will be met on arrival at the airport and transferred to your luxurious floating home for the next 15 days. This afternoon you will have time to unpack, relax and get acquainted with the ship, as the excitement builds for what is sure to be a memorable and unforgettable holiday.

Day 2 – Thursday 24 June – Budapest

Start the day with a tour of Budapest before your first Signature Experience awaits.

Enjoy a welcome reception at Budapest Railway Station’s Royal Waiting Room before boarding the Grand Empress steam train. Take in the scenery as you journey along the Danube River to Esztergom and enjoy lunch on board along the way. Once you arrive in Esztergom, set out on a guided exploration of this picturesque city which was a royal seat from the late 10th to the mid-13th centuries.

After your time in Esztergom, re-board the ship and sail off to Vienna.

Day 3 – Friday 25 June – Vienna

Spend the day in Vienna and visit the Ringstrasse as well as St Stephen’s Cathedral.

Day 4 – Saturday 26 June – Vienna

Choose your activity in Vienna today before a special Signature Experience this evening.

Perhaps visit the opulent Schönbrunn Palace with its 1,441 rooms and perfectly manicured gardens. Or you may wish to tick another country off your list and journey to Bratislava, Slovakia. Otherwise, get active with a bike ride to Klosterneuburg Monastery, a beautiful 12th century Augustinian monastery.

After dinner, head to the princely family of Liechtenstein’s City Palace in the heart of Vienna, where you will enjoy an exclusive cocktail party and private recital, just for you! A full orchestra will perform classical masterpieces by Mozart and Strauss. You will also be enchanted by an operatic recital and a performance by members of the Mozart Boys’ Choir.

Day 5 – Sunday 27 June – Dürnstein and Melk

Explore the beautiful town of Dürnstein before choosing your activity for the day.

Today you may choose to ride a bike through the Wachau Valley or cruise to Melk for a tour of Melk Abbey.

Day 6 – Monday 28 June – Linz and Passau

How the day unfolds is up to you with a number of activities on offer for you today.

Head to Salzburg to visit some of the sites featured in the Sound of Music. If that option is not to your liking, set off into the Czech Republic where Ceský Krumlov awaits. Both options will conclude in Passau. Alternatively, you may wish to stay onboard and cruise to Passau and enjoy time to explore at your leisure.

Day 7 – Tuesday 29 June – Regensburg

Once again, enjoy the chance to personalise your day with a couple of sightseeing options in Regensburg.

Explore the World-Heritage listed city centre of Regensburg or perhaps get active and take a guided bike ride to the Walhalla memorial.

Day 8 – Wednesday 30 June – Nuremberg

Set out on your preferred activity today in Nuremberg.

Perhaps journey through Nuremberg’s history with its Gothic churches and World War II sites. Or you may choose a guided walk through the Schwarzach Valley.

Day 9 – Thursday 1 July – Bamberg

Once you have arrived in Bamberg, join a local expert to uncover everything this World Heritage-listed city has to offer. Otherwise, take it easy and relax onboard.

Day 10 – Friday 2 July – Würzburg

You have a selection of activities to choose from today in Würzburg.

You may choose to embark on a walk to the Würzburg Residence. Perhaps travel to the fairy-tale town of Rothenburg. Or you may wish to meet the locals with a visit to a family-owned farm, where a homemade morning tea is on the menu.

Day 11 – Saturday 3 July – Miltenberg

Step ashore in Miltenberg today and set out on a guided exploration. Wander through cobblestone streets and admire the town’s enchanting half-timbered houses before time at leisure to explore on your own.

Day 12 – Sunday 4 July – Rüdesheim and Koblenz

In Rüdesheim today, choose between two experiences before cruising through the Rhine Valley to Koblenz. You might like to join your cruise director here for an evening stroll through the charming village.

Perhaps take a gondola ride and soak in the views or pay a visit to Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum.

Day 13 – Monday 5 July – Koblenz and Andernach

Cruise to Andernach for your final Signature Experience. The afternoon will be spent sailing onwards to Amsterdam.

Visit Namedy Castle for morning tea and a piano recital in the ballroom.

Day 14 – Tuesday 6 July – Amsterdam

Arrive in Amsterdam and set out on your chosen activity for the day. Tonight, enjoy the Captain’s farewell dinner.

You may choose to cruise the canals on a glass-top boat or visit Zaanse Schans. Otherwise, you may stay onboard to relax and unwind.

Day 15 – Wednesday 7 July – Amsterdam

Sadly, the time has come to say goodbye. After breakfast, it will be time to disembark the ship for your onward journey.
