The ultimate multi terrain two-day race for bikes, cars, buggies and quads. All racing on the same off-road track! “Finke” as it is commonly known, is one of the biggest annual sporting events in the Northern Territory and has the reputation of being one of the most difficult off road courses in one of the most remote places in the world.
The mission is simple – Get to Finke and back as quickly as possible – But tackling the course and staying in one piece is no easy task!

Street Party & Night Markets
Warm up at the 'Official Kick Off Party' of the Tatts Finke Desert Race! Meet and greets with competitors, watch epic stunt performances from Showtime FMX live music, kids' zone and enjoy the Alice Springs night markets.
Scrutineering
One of the most popular events during race week, fans can inspect and admire the competing bikes, cars, quads and buggies as they are checked by technical officials for compliance and safety before a big weekend of racing.
Prologue & Sportsnet Dinner
Start the day watching the competitors' race against the clock around the 8.3km prologue circuit, located within the start-finish precinct with the fastest times earning a front-row start. Finish the day with Sportsnet dinner function with special guest hosts.
Race Day One
Watch the main event kick off from the VIP Grid lounge, as the bikes, cars, quads and buggies start their first 226km treacherous desert trek to Finke, ahead of overnight stop to recharge, repair and ready-up for the ride back to Alice Springs.
Race Day Two
With unbeatable views of the finish line, soak in the sights and sounds of this iconic race as you witness those that remain cross the finish line and see who will be crowned King of Desert!
Official Presentation Night
Winners are celebrated and finishers relish in the opportunity to collect their finisher’s spikes. Listening endless stories of epic moments & near misses told with a sense of pride after completing one of the most difficult off-road courses in the world.
