NZ Hill Climb Champs and Twilight Drag Racing

This morning, we will take a short walk to the E Hayes and Sons hardware store. Every year, thousands of people journey to this iconic Invercargill hardware store for two reasons - to see the remarkable vintage motorcycles and stand in the presence of a legend. Here you will see Burt Munro’s authentic, original and legendary 1920 Indian Scout as part of the E Hayes Motorworks collection.

Afterwards, the challenge kicks off just south of Invercargill with the Star Insurance NZ Hill Climb Champs at Bluff. Experience the smell of the exhausts and the screams of the engines as the machines speed past, wrenching and weaving their way to the summit.

On the way back to Invercargill, there will be a photo opportunity at Stirling Point Bluff, famous for its signpost which depicts directions and distances to major cities around the world.

This evening, transfer from the Langlands Hotel to experience the excitement of the Indian Motorcycle Twilight Drag Racing at Teretonga Park. Once the racing is complete, transfer back to the Langlands Hotel.

Indian Motorcycle Beach Racing and NZ Champs

Meet in the lobby for a short walk to The Handle Bar at Classic Motorcycle Mecca for a gourmet Bikers Breakfast.

Enjoy a full breakfast including a range of hot and cold items with tea, coffee and juice, with a backdrop of the leading motorcycle museum in the Southern Hemisphere.

While here, discover the largest and most diverse display of classic motorcycles in New Zealand, with more than 300 motorbikes that hail as far back as 1902, including names such as Indian, Harley Davidson, Vincent, John Britten, Brough Superior, Burt Munro and BMW.

Afterwards, coach transfer to visit the Burt Munro burial site and bronze statue with coach transfer back to The Langlands Hotel.

Later today, transfer to the Indian Motorcycle Beach Racing and NZ Champs. Stepping onto the long emptiness of Oreti Beach, where Burt once opened the throttle, is a raw and awe-inspiring experience. Watch the dirt bikes tear up and down the mile-long circuit from your sand dune grandstand position. Once the racing is complete, transfer back to the Langlands Hotel.

E Hayes & Sons Teretonga Sprint Races, NZ Superbike Champs and Super Seller Shelley Speedway

After breakfast, transfer to Teretonga Park for the E Hayes and Sons Teretonga Sprint Races and New Zealand Superbike Champs. Teretonga Park has hosted Superbike, V8, and F1 legends. Feel the thrill of bikes racing around the southernmost FIA-approved motor racing circuit in the world.

This afternoon, transfer from the Teretonga Sprint Races to Oreti Park for a Speedway spectacular. A highlight for many, cheer on the brakeless bikes as they slide around in the dirt - delighting the crowds surrounding the circuit. See all the action from a Curtain Sider Viewing Platform. The local Scout group will also put a BBQ for all to enjoy with burgers, sausages, soup and a can on soft drink on offer. Once the racing is complete, transfer back to the Langlands Hotel.

E Hayes & Sons Teretonga Sprint Races and NZ Superbike Champs

After breakfast, transfer to Teretonga Park for the final day of competition at the E Hayes and Sons Teretonga Sprint Races and NZ Superbike Champs.

Tonight, join your tour leaders and fellow travellers for a farewell dinner with some fantastic cocktail food and a drink on arrival. Celebrate and reminisce on the amazing few days of racing you have just witnessed at the 2025 Burt Munro Challenge.
