2024 Supercars Championship Season Preview

Published by on November 09, 2023

The 2024 Repco Supercars Championship season calendar has been announced with the 12 round season kicking off in February with an exciting Bathurst opening round, featuring a new-look New Zealand venture in April and all of our other fan favourites, finishing in Adelaide in November.

Key changes for the 2024 Supercars Season

Fans will notice the biggest change is the Bathurst 500 replacing the Newcastle 500 as the opening round race in 2024. Taking place the weekend following the Bathurst 12 Hour, the Bathurst 500 will form part of a Bathurst SuperFest, a fitting way to kick-off the Australian racing season at the spiritual home of Australian motorsport. The jewel in the crown, the Repco Bathurst 1000 will remain in its traditional place on the calendar and will be held on Sunday 13 October.

Events dropped for the 2024 calendar are the Newcastle 500 and OTR SuperSprint at The Bend, though Supercars have confirmed that racing will return to The Bend in 2025, where it will host an Undurance Round for the first time ever.
